About Me

Hi, I’m Kara, a book-lover based in London. My favourite genre is Crime/Thriller, for the most part. I also really enjoy some dystopian fantasy and I will read almost any Young Adult fiction too. I’m really starting to get into contemporary ya at the moment after a long love-hate relationship with it. I struggle with high fantasy but I am willing to give it a go.

When I don’t have my head in a book you can find me wondering around London, probably in the West End. I’m a musical fanatic having been an avid theatre goer since I was probably 4-years-old. My first proper job at 16 was as a theatre usher and I continued doing this for the next 5 years, including at several West End theatres, all the way through college and uni until I graduated.

I really enjoy travelling although I’m terrified of flying which makes for an interesting combination. I’m constantly planning dream holidays and have a folder full of ready-made European city breaks so the second I can afford a holiday I’ll be off. I’m a complete history nerd and nothing makes me happier than wondering around little old cities finding all of the hidden nooks that only the locals know.

I’m a massive binge-watcher and often polish off a 22 episode season on a lazy Sunday day off, and I crochet for fun in front of Emmerdale every weekday evening (for my non-British readers this is one of our daily soaps) .

Long story short, I’m a bit of an old woman and I am more than okay with that.
